Hi everybody. We at Ace Alarm Services hope that you had an enjoyable Christmas and peaceful new year.
We were very busy over the holiday period with emergency service calls for alarm, CCTV and gate automation systems.
Lightening caused quite a bit of damage to various systems. We would advise anybody that has an alarm connected to a phone line to test the dialler to ensure that it is working correctly.
This is how you test the different devices ...
If you are connected to a monitoring station (Top Security 021 4968666), phone them and give them your 5 digit account number or password/pass phrase and they will put the system on test for you.
Full set your alarm system. Trigger your alarm by activating a window sensor or movement detector. Do not use entry exit routes to test the alarm, i.e. when you trigger the alarm for testing both inside and outside sirens should activate immediately, you should not hear the entry/exit timer sounding. Make sure that you allow the alarm to ring for at least 1 minute before switching it off.
Contact the monitoring station to check to see if they received signals from your alarm. Once complete, instruct them to take the system off test. If all signals transmitted ok, no further action is required, if the alarm did not transmit signals ok, contact us and we will check the system out for you.
Text/voice diallers can be tested as described above, without the need to ring the monitoring station obviously.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
